Active Space

Active Space is an interactive media programming system that generates visuals and sound in response to movement. It has been used to create interdisciplinary performances, public art projects, gallery installations and teaching environments. The system continually senses, measures and responds to the movement of participants, providing an array of tools with which to engage and "play the space" as an instrument. More

eDance Network

eDance Network is developing live interactive video exhibits for community locations where visitors dance with professionals to create dance videos that become a permanent part of the exhibit. Participants interact with dance sequences on the screen, then record themselves dancing along. More

eMedia Studio

In the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology at UC Irvine, the eMedia Studio is a "Distributed Arts Collaboratory" where artistic inquiry meets technology innovation to explore embodied interaction in dance, theatre, music and visual arts. More

Threads & Trajectories

A series of dance films shot on location in Beijing, China, Threads & Trajectories portrays the global urban experience as an embodiment of collective memory, a repository for narrative structures that continually evolve through our physical responses to the circumstances we inhabit. More

Z-Dance

A live interactive video exhibit sponsored by Zeum, a multimedia arts and technology museum in San Francisco. Responding directly to visitors and their motion, Z-Dance creates visuals and sound sequences that influence the ways people move, and and allows them to record their performances. More
